7-step prereqVoice + scoringReal questions

By starting, you agree to your camera and microphone being used for the duration of the interview.

How the AI mock interview works

A spoken mock interview with Zaheen, an AI interviewer. You answer out loud, Zaheen asks follow-up questions based on what you actually said, and every answer is scored against a written rubric. The interview is built from your own resume or a job description, so the questions are about your experience and the role you want.

  1. Add your resume or a job description

Paste it, or upload a PDF, DOCX or TXT file. Zaheen uses it to write up to eight tailored questions, which come first.

  2. Pick the interview type and length

Mixed (technical and behavioral), Technical, or HR and behavioral. Choose 3, 5, 7, 10 or 15 questions; the session allows about four minutes per question plus five minutes of slack.

  3. Check your mic and go live

A quick system check covers your microphone, connection and browser (Chrome, Edge or Firefox). The camera is optional.

  4. Answer out loud

Zaheen reads each question aloud with live captions, listens, and may follow up the way a real interviewer would. The interview can wrap up early once it has heard enough.

  5. Read your scored report

A score out of 100, a hire or no-hire verdict, scores for each rubric dimension, a per-question breakdown with stronger example answers, delivery stats such as pace and filler words, and the full transcript. Download it as PDF, Word or JSON.

What every answer is scored on

Each answer gets 0–10 on five dimensions. Which five depends on the interview type.

Technical

Correctness · Approach · Complexity · Communication · Edge cases

HR and behavioral

Situation and task · Action · Result · Reflection · Communication

Mixed

Correctness · Approach · Communication · Depth · Impact

The verdict

The overall 0–10 average maps to Strong Hire (8.5+), Hire (7+), Borderline (5.5+) or No Hire.

Questions Zaheen asks

Most questions are written for you from your resume or job description. These come from Zaheen's built-in set:

  • Tell me about a project you owned end to end — what was yours, specifically?
  • Describe a time you disagreed with a teammate on a technical decision.
  • Tell me about something you shipped that failed. What did you learn?
  • A query that ran in 200ms now takes 30 seconds. Walk me through your diagnosis.

Frequently asked questions

Is the AI mock interview free?

The live voice interview is part of Pro ($15/mo). Timed mock interviews are free for everyone — they're multiple choice and need no microphone.

What do I need to start?

A Pro account, a microphone, and Chrome, Edge or Firefox. A camera is optional. You also need your resume or a job description, because the interview is built from one of them.

Can I practice behavioral interviews?

Yes. Choose HR + Behavioral and each answer is scored on the STAR structure — situation and task, action, result — plus reflection and communication.

How is the interview scored?

Each answer is scored 0–10 on five rubric dimensions that depend on the interview type. The overall score maps to a verdict: Strong Hire, Hire, Borderline or No Hire. The report shows the score for every dimension and every question.

Which languages are supported?

Interviews are conducted in English.

Is the score a hiring decision?

No. AI scoring is a practice tool, not a hiring decision. Use it to find weak spots before the real interview.
