Privacy Policy

What we collect

• Account: name, email, profile picture (if Google sign-in).
• Practice data: questions answered, accuracy, streaks, bookmarks.
• Interviews: the text of your answers, rubric scores, and audit records — stored against your account so you can review them. Voice answers are sent to our speech-to-text service for transcription and aren't retained as audio — only the transcribed text is stored.
• Usage analytics: which pages you visit and which features you use, so we can see what's worth building. Recorded with the text stripped out — we see that a button was clicked, never what it said, and never the content of your answers, résumé, or scores.
• Session replay: we record how the page was used — where you clicked, what you scrolled, how long a step took — so we can find where the product is confusing. It is masked at the source: every text field and every piece of on-screen text is blanked before the recording leaves your browser, so your résumé, your answers, the questions and your scores are never in it. Recordings are kept for 30 days.
• Payments: plan tier and status only. We never see card details — they stay with the payment processor (PayPal, Razorpay, or Mercury).

What we don't do

• Your webcam video and identity photo stay on your device — recorded only for your own session playback and never uploaded to our servers.
• No selling or sharing your data.
• No third-party advertising trackers.
• Protected characteristics are never used to score you.

Where your data lives

Account, progress, and interview data are stored in our managed Postgres database. AI scoring and questions run through Groq's LLMs, which don't retain prompts beyond the inference call. Answers are PII-redacted before scoring. Usage analytics and session replay are processed by PostHog (US), which sets a cookie to recognise return visits. IP addresses are anonymised before storage.

Automated decisions

AI interview scores are advisory only — a human makes any real decision. In line with NYC Local Law 144 and the EU AI Act, each scored decision is recorded in a tamper-evident audit log, and you can request a human review or appeal a result.

Your rights (GDPR / CCPA)

• Access / export: email support@interview-prep.academy from your registered address.
• Delete your account: request from your account page — wipes everything within 24 hours.
• Cancel: anytime from your account.

Children & changes

Not directed at children under 13. We may update this policy — material changes are emailed to active users.
